One of my favorite shots from this convention. I asked for an action shot; he obliged. I later heard that there was a Green Ranger cosplayer walking around, but never managed to find one. The flash sync on this shot is wrong (I wasn’t using second-curtain sync), so the blur is weird.
I was shooting more in a documentary style this time around. This shot is an outsider’s view of a Hellsing cosplay group shot. Part of this is the “new toy” itch — I bought myself a monopod back in December of last year, and have been itching to try it out at a con — but I think these sorts of pictures are just more fun, you know? I like to see things from other perspectives. Figuratively and literally.

One of my friends proposed to his girlfriend of lots-of-years (six, I think) at Iron Editor. I like the way this shot layers both activities, though it’s hard to tell the Iron Editor activity without context.
Naturally, there are hijinks at Iron Editor. This was some marathon Caramelldansen dance line.
