City Methodist Church, Gary, IN

Selected angles of the auditorium of City Methodist Church. Johnny Fowle and Ashley Riot are in the shots, in that order.

Looking from the hallway into the auditorium.

Messing around in the lobby.

A room on the second floor. It might have been a classroom or meeting room, as there was a chalkboard on the wall behind the camera.

Finally, here’s a shot to explain what the hell we were doing in such a blatantly unsanitary area of unknown structural integrity.

Fowle and I were tagging along on a shoot being done by Scott Kashian. I didn’t think it made sense for us to interfere with the actual shoot, so we poked around the church and played around with photography. As one would expect of such play, there’s many more photos, but a lot of them are only interesting for their pedogogical value to us, so they won’t be posted.

Despite the hazard it poses to human life, the church is a pretty nifty location for all sorts of visual work (and we’re not the only ones who think that). Going back? Yep.

One of the photos from Scott’s shoot is available online.
